We are proud to be the 55th Chapter of the National Association of Neonatal Nurses. Our Chapter was officially recognized by NANN in 1994.
We are very excited that several of our charter members are still actively involved in the organization. SECANN would not exist if it were not for the charter members and facilities. Womack, Moore Regional, South Eastern Regional, Betsy Johnson, Scotland Memorial, Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, New Hanover Regional Medical Center, and others. We hope you will all continue to show your support by renewing your membership/commitment to SECANN.
Our goal to increase our membership has exceeded our wildest imagination and continues to grow! We are so excited and believe that with the growing number of members we can successfully achieve more of our goals. SECANN will make every effort to show our dedication and commitment to our members and potential members.
SECANN also wants to become more active in fundraising events. We are interested in anything that contributes to our communties and our profession.
PURPOSE
The purpose of SECANN is to 1) promote the highest standards of neonatal nursing practice and education and 2) to assist the neonatal nurse/caregiver in advancing professional development and economic welfare.
MEETINGS
Meetings have historically been held on the first Monday of every other month (Jan, March, May, Sept, and Nov). However, times, locations, topics, and dates are all negotiable. We want to make our meetings convenient and important to all of our members. The meetings are open to anyone interested in neonatal care.
Some important incentives for joining SECANN include; educational offerings at our meetings and in our Newsletter, CME's or CEU's offered at our meetings, exciting and knowledgeable speakers, opportunities for networking with your colleagues, peer recognition awards, and many other opportunities for professional growth.
